  1. Anyhow, in the pre-Charl-what's-it era, a soldier belonging to THEM somehow ended up on Earth, is somehow captured and interrogated (in secret, of course, XCom-style). How they brought it down in secret is anyone's guess.
  2.
  3. Extra-planar stuff in a nutshell: physical, essentially invulnerable world-sized monsters trying to control as much of the planes they can find. Can be killed, their power is tied to how much area they control, if they control too much they split in two and fight amongst each other. Personalities tend to be random, when generated, and don't shift. They're not mortal, so their natures don't need to change over time - they can remain static. Needless to say, one arriving here would be a very bad thing, due to their size. Also not sure how physics works in The Planes, so it would probably be bad for that Entity as well, but Earth would probably be wiped clean of human life before it became that Entity's problem.
  4.
  5. Akhbrts / Qmoxidal Entity, "THE THING"
  6. Unknown to humans, so no human-given name. Probably "Dave." Similar to the pawns sent to Earth, brutal and unrelenting with minimal planning and forethought.
  7.
  8. Draconequean Entity, "Ereleth"
  9. Described by the Qmoxie prisoner, interpreted by the inquisitors as a white/gold dragon, and named Ereleth by the same inquisitors. They interpreted an insult/curse/racial slur that their captive hurled at them shortly before dying. Interpreted as a protector of Earth, though in reality the chunk of some plane it holds is close enough to Earth that one would be forgiven for making that mistake. Humanity has no ACTUAL understanding of its nature, and neither do I.
  10. Note: Accidentally named this dragon after a character in Skyrim (Irileth, no wonder it seemed familiar) which is also similar to a city in England (Ireleth), so... maybe the town was named for the dragon, or the other way around, who knows? Not me, that's who.
  11.
  12. Draconequen faith
  13. Of the few around that were part of the interrogation process, the ones that weren't silenced on the spot to keep the extra-planar invasion secret, some opted to worship Eraleth in secret, since the whole mis-interpreted "PROTECTOR OF EARTH" thing. They settled in as a branch of the Christian/Catholic faith(s), quietly passing down this information, not spreading the word TOO much, and overall keeping a lid on things. UNTIL...
  14.
  15. (and here's where I start making things up in an effort to duct tape things together)
  16.
  17. ...and I'm not sure how to duct tape these two together.
  18.
  19. Option 1 is to have THEM be viewed as some sort of GOOD thing, those who would help the poor serfs rise up and take control from their overlords, but how would that produce a ritual capable of summoning THEM?
  20.
  21. Option 2 is to have a Qmoxie impart knowledge on a select few individuals, but then how did those guys get through, if the first was an accident, and FURTHERMORE why not just try to summon more in yourselves, rather than employing human cultists, since you probably hate humans and all... Probably think they're another thing's minions. Hell, we might be.
  22.
  23. Option 3 came while eating, and works. Since Ereleth's domain is situated in such a way that it's "close" to Earth, or at least was in around 1444, we can claim that THE THING and Ereleth share borders (if you can have borders on dishointed not-really-physical planes). During a recent border clash, THE THING and Ereleth's fight rings through and begins giving people weird dreams. The specifics of the rituals don't matter, for all I can figure, demon-summoning rituals summon things from The Planes. Works for me.
  24.
  25. AND DONE or at least DONE ENOUGH.
