I'm having this issue again after upgrade to GCC 6 from GCC 5 recently. I've being able to compile custom kernel with just `KCFLAGS="-fno-pie"`, now it fails with error mentioned in this bug report.

Any ideas why? Am I alone here?

KCFLAGS="-fno-pie" sh /path/to/nvidia.shit.run
