I was the kid in my family who didn't go to college. And even though my dad didn't make me feel bad for that, I think he secretly worried about how I was going to make it.

So please hear me: If you have a dream to start a business, just do it. You are most likely way ahead of the game than I was when I started, and let me break that down for you: I started my career a mere 4 years ago (after turning 40) with no college education, no job history (except baking lasagna, ironing my husband's shirts, and dropping the kids off to soccer), divorced with no alimony, no investment funding, no connections, and in a town where I knew no one. If I can do it, you can do it. So rock on #girlbosses!
